In Ancient India
In India the science field has a glorious past and very effective applications and discoveries.
In ancient times the Science did not have a very effective technical applications. But the topics that bother us today, SPACE, TIME & MATTER were discussed and given great explanations that still hold true(literally the language was different).
TIME in those days, as explained, was given a meaning in terms of planets. Mainly Sun, moon and Earth. The Days were counted and recorded by observing the movement of moon as it goes from full-moon to new-moon. This gave us the idea of an Month and Year which is the basic for TIME.
SPACE was considered the most unsolved and mysterious thing. But still the explanation was given to it. Accordingly the Space was divided into three parts, viz. Psychological space, Physical Space and infinite space of consciousness. Also it was said that the whole universe is contained in a sub atomic particles and the explanation for multi-universe was also given, i.e. in the same sub-atomic particle there existed three universes.
MATTER was given the most accurate explanation. It was said that every matter is made of Tiny particles called ANU (that we call ATOMS today). And ANU is indivisible.
THE SCIENCE FIELD ALSO PRODUCED THE ART OF CHEMISTRY AND METALLURGY. One of the great scientist of chemistry and metallurgy was NAGARJUNA.
He was an extraordinary wizard of science born in the "Nondescript village of Baluka in modern day Madhya Pradesh". His dedicated research for twelve years produced maiden and pioneering discoveries and inventions in the faculties of chemistry and metallurgy. Textual masterpieces like "Ras Ratnakar", "Rashrudaya" and "Rasendramangal" are his renowned contributions in the field science of chemistry. Where the medieval alchemists of England failed, "Nagarjuna" had discovered the alchemy of transmuting base metals such as silver into gold. As the author of medical books like "Arogyamanjari" and "Yogasar", he also made significant contributions to the field of medicine. Because of his profound scholarliness and versatile knowledge, he was appointed as the Chancellor of the famous "University of Nalanda" of Bihar. Nagarjuna's milestone discoveries impress and astonish the modern day scientists .
